Program Resources

Are you interested in bringing TAP to your community?

We designed our consultation service and these program resources to provide relevant information for developing a project locally and expanding out-of-home storage options for firearm owners in your area.

Please take the time to review the resources including the comprehensive toolkit before starting a TAP program locally to ensure a successful launch in your community.

Resource: TAP Toolkit

Comprehensive Reference Guide

We developed this toolkit in response to inquiries from other coalitions and motivated communities interested in partnering with firearm retailers and range owners and want to learn from our successes with The Armory Project. We, in turn, have learned from initiatives in other states, and we include a list of those efforts and their websites in this toolkit.

Why a toolkit?

We developed this comprehensive toolkit in response to inquiries from other coalitions and motivated communities who are interested in partnering with firearm retailers and range owners and want to learn from our successes. We, in turn, have learned from initiatives in other states, and we include a list of those efforts and their websites in this toolkit.

The intention of this toolkit is to encourage and facilitate sustainable partnerships between public health advocates and leaders in the firearm industry, in new locations across the country. This toolkit will walk you through the TAP process for developing local partnerships, onboarding and training partners, creating a Community of Practice, and evaluating your results.
